I received my doctorate, with distinction, from the Anthropology and Educational Linguistics programs at the University of Pennsylvania in 2016. I have taught Linguistic and Cultural Anthropology at Wagner College (NY), Queens College (NY), and UC Riverside (CA). I was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Pomona College from 2018 to 2021. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Pomona College.

I wear a number of hats, often at once! I'm from San Francisco, where I grew up within a French-American family. I stayed close-by for college, going to UC Berkeley, and then moved to work as a linguist for an NGO in Dakar, Senegal. Miraculously, I then met my husband, who is from Senegal, while in San Francisco! After both finishing our doctorates, we moved to Claremont, California, where we live with our four kids (16, 4, 3, and 5 months). We both enjoy teaching at Pomona College. When we're not teaching though, our family loves to play at the beach, cook Senegalese and French meals, work on our garden, Facetime with family members around the globe (SF, Paris, Thiès), and dance to some Kassav' playing on the turntable.
